Place the stand-offs in each mounting hole so they protrude at the back of the motherboard. Unlike the Hyper 612S, the EVO goes back to using a universal retention bracket. And in that link you'll also see the curve I'm talking about with the old models compared to the 212x. Installation Installation is fairly straightforward and those with the older Hyper 212+ will be familiar with the method. Here's a link to prove you and your engineers wrong. Have a wonderful day.Ĭome on man, that's all you have to say.? Can't be installed in any other way with 212+ and evo. If you have any other questions please do contact us again. I personally was confused when you said you can install the Hyper 212 Plus because I am a computer technician and I have installed many of these heat sinks and I remember Hyper 212 PLUS can only be installed in one position. The Hyper 212 Plus is the same and can also be installed in one direction, they said you might have been confused it with the V6 which uses a different bracket and it can be installed for both horizontal and vertical position for AMD. I confirmed with our heat sink engineers, the ones who designed the entire Hyper 212 series and also the TPC series they said that AMD can only be installed in one direction for AMD sockets. Can anyone confirm this? I want to install it horizontally, my current setup is on vertical orientation. I've contacted CM Support but here's what they're trying to tell me.
